Sands girls are opening basketball season ranked as the 13th best Class 1A squad in the state. For the most part, the Mustang girls lived up to their lofty billing on opening night. A big second half proved to be the difference in Sands’ 58-25 blowout victory over Ira Tuesday evening at Ackerly. The Mustang girls led by only six, 21-15, at the half.
