The Golden Tornadoes are returning to the Class 4A state volleyball playoffs after surviving an all-out battle Saturday afternoon at Lubbock Estacado.
Both the Golden Tors and Matadors went into the match knowing they needed a victory to keep their postseason hopes alive.
After getting swept by the Golden Tors in three straight sets a couple of weeks ago at Follis Gym, the Estacado Matadors opened Saturday’s match by winning the first set, 25-22. Lamesa won the second set, 25-14, and the third one, 25-15 before Estacado tied things up with a 25-16 in the fourth set.
