The third serious accident in less than two weeks at a new intersection just south of Lamesa claimed the life of a Midland woman Saturday morning. Bonnie L. Byrom, 85, was pronounced dead at Medical Arts Hospital less than an hour after the collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 and State Highway 349. Byrom was the driver and lone occupant of a 2005 Toyota Camry, according to information provided by Sgt. Oscar Villarreal, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson.
