More that two dozen pieces of property scattered across Lamesa are being put up for bid. Anyone interested in purchasing those properties doesn’t have to get in a bidding war, however, according to City Manager Shawna Burkhart. Instead, each property will be sold to the first person to offer the established minimum for that particular site. “It’s first-come, first-served – whoever meets the minimum,” Burkhart said Friday. The properties being sold by the city are called trust properties. They are lots and tracts of land which have been foreclosed upon to collect a tax lien owed to local governmental entities, including the City of Lamesa,
