The Klondike Cougars booked a return to the state volleyball playoffs Tuesday evening at Cougar Gymnasium by knocking off Wellman-Union, 25-10, 25-11, 25-14.
The win improved the Cougars’ record to 24-11 on the year and to 9-1 in District 3-2A play where they continue to share the league lead with Plains.
“Our goal is to get back to that regional tournament again where we’re hoping to push forward from there,” Klondike Coach Eva Myers said.
“But this is the first step toward getting there.”
The Cougars have now reached the playoffs the past five years after bringing back that sport just six years ago.
