After an absence of a few weeks, Adreana Gonzalez is returning to the district clerk’s office at the Dawson County courthouse.
Instead of returning to her position as a deputy clerk, however, she is now heading the office as district clerk.
District Judge Reed Filley has appointed Gonzalez to fill the position which was recently vacated by the resignation of Tobie McCormick.
Gonzalez was sworn in by Judge Filley on Tuesday morning and took office immediately.
“I’m humbled to be able to serve the people of Dawson County,” Gonzalez said Tuesday afternoon, admitting she is somewhat nervous but excited about her new responsibilities.
