Graveside services for William “Bill” H. Barron, 78, will be held Thursday September 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Syl Moore officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Bill passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Lubbock surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 9, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas to James and Lena (Colley) Barron. He was raised at 10 Mile, south of Lamesa and attended Klondike High School. He married Jacquelyn Rhea June 18, 1976 in Lubbock, Texas. She passed away October 27, 1987. He then married Jereen Gray in December 29, 2001.
He owned his own mechanic shop and taught auto mechanics at Lamesa High School. He was a pilot with Civil Art Patrol and played the guitar with a small group. He was a loving father, an all-around good ole boy and was a lifetime Lamesan.
Bill is survived by wife, Jereen Barron of Lamesa; son, Billy (B.J.) Barron and wife, Whitney of Shallowater; stepchildren, Barbara Palmer and husband, Robbie of Post, Nancy Gray Rector of Kerrville, Kelly Gray Rogers and husband, Kenny of Dallas, Kristi Gray Popin of Dallas, Steven Gray, Monte Gray and Tracy Gray all of Burleson; grandchildren, Brooks Barron, Macey Barron, and Travis Barron all of Shallowater, Jackie Milton of Midland, Sarah Palmer of Post, Justin Gray of Burleson and Laurel Popin of Dallas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dorothy Cornett and J.L. Barron.
