A third felony conviction is sending 37-year-old Elida Parra to prison. Parra received a 10-year state prison sentence after pleading guilty in 106th District Court here last week to a charge of credit card abuse. Parra had been indicted last year on the charge alleging she obtained clothing from Beall’s in 2017 by using a credit card without permission of the owner. The charge was enhanced from a state jail felony to a second-degree felony by allegations Parra twice previously has been convicted on felony charges alleging possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
