The Mesa Underground Water Conservation District will be operating in 2019-2020 with a smaller budget and tax rate compared to this past year.
Board members voted 3-0 on Wednesday to set the new tax rate at 1.4998 per $100 worth of property value.
That is down just a fraction of a cent – about 4 percent – from last year’s tax rate of 1.5645 cents per $100 value.
It will, however, provide enough tax revenue to almost balance the district’s budget for the coming year, according to General Manager Jacob Hernandez.
