Lamesa and Dawson County will join the rest of the nation Monday in observing the Labor Day holiday. All local and state governmental agencies will be closed except those necessary for the public safety. Personnel will be on call at the Lamesa Fire Department, Department of Public Safety, Dawson County Sheriff’s Department, Dawson County EMS and the Lamesa Police Department. Only one school district in the area will hold classes and that is Borden County. Lamesa ISD, Dawson ISD, Klondike ISD, Sands CISD and O’Donnell all will be closed.
