SEMINOLE – When Officer Natally Ville-gas was pinned as the first female sergeant with the Seminole Police force on July 26, it was what Chief Bernie Kraft referred to as “groundbreaking.”
“She is the first female sergeant that I know of with the Seminole PD,” he said, adding that there are many situations where a female supervisor is needed.
“Case in point would be sexual assaults. Sometimes the last person a female victim wants to see is a male asking her very personal questions. There are a lot of positives to having a female on board in this position,” Kraft said.
