Appraisal Review Board board rejects challenge to valuations
SNYDER – The Appraisal Review Board (ARB) denied Kinder-Morgan’s protest of its 2019 valuations Friday morning.
After the hour-long hearing, Jackie Martin, chief appraiser for the Scurry County Appraisal District, said the ARB upheld $701.4 million of Kinder Morgan’s valuations that the company was protesting. Of that total, $666 million was determined to be mineral values, according to valuations from Thomas Y. Pickett and Company.
Earlier on Friday, Scurry County, Western Texas College, Snyder ISD and the Scurry County Hospital District challenged the $666 million valuation, stating their expert put the value at $2.1 billion.
