The participation and support of local residents for Lamesa’s annual Independence Day Celebration is being urged by coordinators of all events that will be held on Thursday. The celebration is sponsored by the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re inviting everybody to come out and enjoy our celebration,” Chamber President Sandra Adams. “We hear a lot of people talk about the heat, but then it’s supposed to be hot.
