Placido Barrientez

    Funeral services for Placido S. Barrientez, age 76, of Lamesa, Texas were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.
    Burial followed at the Dawson County Cemetery under the care and arrangements of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Placido passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 1, 1942 in Seguin, Texas to Ramon Barrientez and Mauricia Soto Barrientez. He married Evelyn Martinez on August 24, 1961.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Johnny Ray Barrientez; his son-in-law, Alfredo Morales Sr.; a sister; and a brother.
    Placido was a retired farmer. He loved fishing with the great-grandkids, working on cars, and being outdoors working on the yard or just sitting. He loved his family and grandkids.
    He is survived by six daughters, Yolanda Barron and husband, Angel, Sylvia Morales, Stella Barrientez, Cindy Martinez and husband, Lamar, all of Lamesa, Texas, Gloria Johnson of Midland, Texas, and Lisa Pate and husband, Mike, of Mabank, Texas; two sons, Robert Barrientez and wife, Jenny, and Jordan Barrientez, all of Lamesa, Texas; grandchildren, April Chavira, Ashley Barron, Angel Barron Jr., Crystal Archer, Alfredo Morales Jr., Summer Hernandez, Alan Morales, Tyler Johnson, Alan Pate, Draven Martinez, Reagan Martinez and Kennedy Martinez; seven sisters; and 13 great-grandchildren.
