Making their first-ever appearance in state One-Act Play competition, Sands High School came oh-so-close to capturing the Class 1A title. The Ackerly school’s production of “Golden Boy” finished as the first runner-up among the eight state qualifiers from across Texas. “It was an amazing night,” said Tana Howard, who directs the play along with Rachelle Morrow, Kimberly Ware and Lenny Morrow.
