City receives $4 million from lawsuit over loop construction
ANDREWS – The city’s lawsuit against a contractor and engineer involved with construction of the initial reliever route that failed around five years ago was settled following mediation efforts on Thursday, according to city officials.
Through the settlement, the city will recoup about a third of the $12.5 million costs associated with the initial construction of the 13.1-mile reliever route.
Parties agreed to the $4 million settlement after nine hours of mediation on Thursday, Andrews City Manager Steve Eggleston said.
