The West Texas A&M University Department of Agricultural Sciences hosted an invitational contest for FFA career development events on March 29. Lamesa High School’s Laynie Swafford was the highest scoring individual out of 142 competitors in the cotton judging contest, earning her a $1,000 WTAMU scholarship. Klondike High School’s Allison Hutchings was the highest scoring individual out of 98 competitors in the dairy foods contest, also earning her a $1,000 WTAMU scholarship.
