Ramon Rodriguez

    Funeral mass for Ramon Lara Rodriguez, 88, will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. 
    Burial will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., and Friday, April 5, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. 
    Ramon passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Lubbock. He was born on December 23, 1930 in Penuelas Aguas, Mexico to Pablo and Elodia (Lara) Rodriguez. He married Ofelia Gonzalez in Encarnacion De Diaz, Mexico in 1958. 
    He was a welder for many years. He loved cooking at family gatherings. He also loved riding his golf cart and socializing. 
    Ramon is survived by his children, Maria Alicia Vargas and husband, Freddie Sr., Margarita Aguayo and Alex Contreras, Ramon Rodriguez Jr. and wife, Melissa, and Lupe Rincon, all of Lamesa; sisters, Isidra Rodriguez of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Pabla Rodriguez of San Antonio; brothers, Pedro Rodriguez of La Pryor, Texas and Felipe Rodriguez of Eagle Pass, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. 
    He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Gonzalo Rodriquez and Jacinta Rodriguez.
