Over the previous 12 months county employees filed 21 health insurance claims that totaled $10,000 or more, Kathy Davenport, employee benefits consultant with TAC (Texas Association of Counties), told the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Monday.
Out of that total, Davenport said, 12 claims were over $10,000, five were over $20,000, three were over $50,000 and one was over $100,000 and probably will end up being close to half a million dollars.
“The last 12 months have not been good for Dawson County,” Davenport stated.
