Three horizontal drilling operations are among six permits issued by the Texas Railroad Commission since the first of the year for new oil drilling activity in Dawson County. Steadfast Oil and Gas of Midland received a permit earlier this month to drill the Changes in Latitude No. 37H as a horizontal well about 13.7 miles northwest of Lamesa and four miles south of Welch.
