Leland Miller

    Graveside services for Leland Claude Miller, 93, of Lamesa, will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Leland passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Lamesa, Texas. He was born on August 7, 1925 in Lamesa to William Claude and Clara (Nolan) Miller in Lamesa Texas. He married Zelda Daughtery on August 16, 1947 in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 44 years. 
    He had a watch repair shop located in McCall Drug. He later was elected as Dawson County Tax Assessor and maintained the office for 24 years without an opponent. He was the President of Kiwanis in 1965 and President of the Babe Ruth and Little League. He loved watching all sports. 
    Leland is survived by his children, Don Miller and wife, Kristi of Lamesa and Billy Miller and wife, Derinda, of Lamesa; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way. 
    He is preceded in death by his wife, Zelda, on January 17, 1992; daughter, Kay Dollar; son in law, Paul Dollar; brother, Vernon Miller; and sister, Laverne Neill; and his parents.
