Layne Sheets, a teacher and coach at Lubbock Coronado High School, has been named as the lone finalist for superintendent of Dawson ISD in Welch. Sheets was named by the Dawson school board at a meeting held on Tuesday evening after board members interviewed three candidates. By state law there is a 21-day waiting period before the board officially can hire Sheets as superintendent.
