The Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation (TBWEF) completed a successful year in 2018. Boll weevil eradication activities were carried out in all Texas and eastern New Mexico cotton fields, on a total of 7.9 million land acres of cotton. Only two zones reported weevil captures. Boll weevil captures occurred in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and the South Texas Winter Garden zone in the East Texas Maintenance Area.
