Despite this week’s chilly temperatures, the Golden Tornadoes’ softball squad continues to heat up the diamond.
The Tors wrapped up play in last weekend’s Monahans Sandhills Tournament by winning two of their final three games.
“Our kids are really competing well. We’re pretty solid both up and down the line-up,” Golden Tor Coach Vanessa Hernandez said.
The Golden Tors lost their first game on Saturday to the host Loboettes, 10-9.
It was Lamesa’s first loss of the season after a 4-0 start.
Monahans scored four runs in the first inning and two runs each in the second, fourth and sixth innings.
