Two areas of rural property north of Lamesa are under development for two separate businesses. Both of those properties, which are located along the east side of Highway 137, originally belonged to Mike Tyler. Work is underway about a half-mile north of Lamesa for a new warehouse facility for West Gaines Seed, which is headquartered west of Seminole. The warehouse will be a metal structure with offices for a small staff. Construction is expected to be completed by early April, in time for planting season across the area.
