Deputies with the Dawson County Sheriff Office soon will replace the use of tasers with pepper guns due to a liability warning issued by the manufacturer. Sheriff Matt Hogg told the Commissioners Court on Tuesday that his office has learned that “are a lot of liability issues” in regard to the use of tasers. “You basically have to know the medical history of a person before you tase them,” Hogg said, “which is impossible to know.” He said the problem mainly seems to be associated with the probes that shoot out from the tasers.
