Election proposes repurposing sales tax funds to water project
ANDREWS – The city council on Thursday approved a special election in May to potentially repurpose a portion of the economic development sales tax proceeds to address the city’s future water supply requirements.
City officials said the move would not impact the Andrews Economic Development Corporation’s operation, but would help meet the city’s 10-year capital forecast plan involving an estimated $6 million to develop a new wellfield and add new water lines.
