O’Donnell’s girls captured a nail-biting 57-55 win over Wellman-Union in District 7-1A basketball action on Tuesday at Wellman.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter but got outscored 17-9 in the second period to cut their lead to 30-27 at the half.
The score was tied at 43-all after three quarters.
“It was a crazy game,” O’Donnell Coach Taylor Feliciano said.
“Juanita Renteria had two big plays for us. She knocked down all of her free throws for us. Those were big plays for a freshman.”
