It took an overtime period to pull it off but Lamesa High School’s varsity girls basketball team overcame a 10-2 first-quarter deficit to pull off a 46-42 win over Andrews on Monday evening.
Lamesa outscored Andrews 8-5 in the fourth quarter and 12-9 in overtime despite having three starters foul out.
“We grew a lot in this game,” Golden Tornado Coach Shai Young said. “We took steps forward, not backward.”
Lamesa trailed 23-14 at the half and 28-25 after three quarters.
