Marcus Olvera
Funeral services for Marcus Olvera, 20, of Lamesa, were held on Friday, January 4, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Lamesa Christian Fellowship with Pastor Gwendolyn Aldridge officiating.
Interment followed at Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Family received friends on Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.
Marcus passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on July 19, 1998 to Hijinio Olvera Jr. and Rosa (Rodriguez) Olvera in Lamesa, Texas. He graduated from Amarillo College on December 14, 2018 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science.
He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family.
Marcus is survived by his parents; brother, Alejandro Olvera of Lamesa; sister, Olivia Olvera Nelson of Lamesa; nephew, Dustin James Nelson; niece, Mia Maria Nelson; uncles and aunts, Ignacio and Nora Olvera, Luis and Lillie Rodriguez, Martin Rodriguez, Felicita and Liborio Martinez, Bardo Olvera, Lucio and Cira Olvera, all of Lamesa, Adela Rodea of Midland and Elena and Jose Angel Gonzales of Midland, Jay and Elizabeth Garcia, David and Jeanette Olvera, and Jose and Belen Perales; grandfather, Hijinio Olvera Sr. and wife, Maribel, of Lamesa; and great-grandmother, Maria Rodriguez of Denver City.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Doroteo and Erlinda Rodriguez and Margarita Olvera; and aunt, Maria Rodriguez.
