William Franklyn ‘Frank’ Wiley
Graveside services for William Franklyn “Frank” Wiley, 83, will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Jim Medley officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Frank passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in Lubbock. He was born on May 9, 1935 in Fort Stockton to J.B. and Dona (Carrell) Wiley.
Frank married Kathleen Martin on November 8, 1954 in Lamesa. He attended school in Pyote, Texas and returned to school in 1970 at Lamesa High School and graduated in May of 1974. He was a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Frank was a welder for Sam Stevens from 1957-1967. He was an assistant manager for Dairy Queen in Lamesa from 1978-1985 and co-owned Wiley’s Food Store from 1985-2005.
He is survived by his children, Ken Wiley and wife, Robin, of Lamesa, Catherine Johnson of Lubbock and Valerie Slatton of Brady; grandchildren, Jason Wiley of Lamesa, Kevin Wiley, Chris Johnson and Kami Johnson, all of Lubbock, Jeremy Slatton of Brady and Joseph Slatton of San Angelo; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Wiley of West Covina, California and Maurice “Bob” Wiley of Killeen; and sisters, Rosa Lanell Montgomery and Francis Coralee Tate, both of Hale Center.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Martin Wiley; his parents, J.B. and Dona Wiley; sister, Samalee Wiley; brothers, J.D. Wiley, Monroe Wiley, Raymond Wiley, Roger Wiley and Harvy Wiley; daughter, Belinda Jo Wiley; and grandchild, William Slatton.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 801 South 1st Street, Lamesa, TX 79331.
