District Judge Carter T. Schildknecht will retire from her elected post with the 106th Judicial District at the end of December after serving over 17 years on the bench. “It has been a good ride. I have thoroughly enjoyed serving as a judge of this district,” Schildknecht said. Except for a brief period of time while she was in college and the first six years of her marriage, Schildknecht has lived in Lamesa since the summer before she was in third grade.
