Malva Holder

    Funeral services for Malva Lee Holder, 95, of Lamesa, Texas will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene, Texas with Pastor Jim Medley and Pastor Mark Hackett officiating.  
    Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.  
    Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 4:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church Chapel in Lamesa, Texas.  
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa, Texas.
    Malva passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 in Lamesa. She was born on August 2, 1923 in Elbert, Texas to Elzie and Grace (Bost) Hann.  
    She married Edgar R. “Jiggs” Holder on October 15, 1940 in Young County, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2006. They were married 66 years.  
    Malva loved cooking and taking care of her family. She and Edgar lived in Key and he preached at Key Baptist Church from 1971 until it closed. When she moved to Lamesa she joined First Baptist Church.  
    Malva is survived by her children, Edgarlene Ball of Abilene, Texas, Larry Holder and wife, Peggy, of Breckenridge, Texas and Carolyn Turner and husband, Robert, of Lamesa, Texas; sister, Veta McGown of Sundown, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.  
    Malva is also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marie Wainscott; and brothers, E.J. Hann, Harley Hann, and Jerry Hann.
