Klondike’s varsity girls basketball team lost to Morton this past Thursday, 44-27, in its final action before the Christmas break.
The game, played at Morton, was tied eight-all at the end of the first quarter but Morton pulled away by outscoring the Lady Cougars 13-5 in the second period and 23-14 in the second half.
“We came out alright but then we couldn’t put the ball in the hole,” Klondike Coach Xavier Elizondo said. “Morton hit a bunch of three-pointers and we couldn’t respond.”
