The Sands girls basketball team just keeps rolling, improving their season record to 16-1 with a win over Wellman-Union on Tuesday at Wellman.
Sands captured a 58-48 win after leading 28-24 at halftime.
“We started off slow,” Sands Coach Ben Connell said. “We came back and scored 19 points in the fourth quarter and were able to win.”
Me-A Gonzales led four Lady Mustangs in double figures with 16 points. Lili Porras had 11, while Landry Morrow and Alexis Gonzales scored 10 each. Also scoring for Sands were Yesenia Reyna with eight points and Kaylee French with three.
