The highly anticipated groundbreaking for construction of the Westwind of Lamesa workforce housing development reportedly continues to be pushed back by the developers.
“They now are saying they will close on the project the third week of December and break ground in January,” Sean Overeynder, executive director of Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project, said this past Monday.
“But,” he added, “we were told the same thing last month ... that they would close in November and break ground in December.”
Prior to that, board members previously had been told that construction would get underway in November.
