Churches in Lamesa have begun to prepare for their various Christmas activities and services for this year’s holiday. First United Methodist Church The First United Methodist Church began celebrating Advent last Sunday, in its 10 a.m. worship service. The church will light Advent candles each Sunday until Christmas arrives, which Pastor Scott Seymour said “should be fun.” First United Methodist also will hold its monthly community kitchen this Sunday, at 6 p.m., in the church fellowship hall for “fun, food, and fellowship,” Seymour said.
