Virginia Lopez

A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Virginia Moron Lopez, age 90, of Lamesa, at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating.

Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.

Viewing was held on Tuesday and Wednesday with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.

Virginia passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Lamesa. She was born on May 21, 1928 in Whiteland, Texas to Marcelino and Delfina Moron. Virginia married Agapito Lopez Sr.on October 3, 1943 in Eden, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Agapito Lopez Sr.; her parents, Marcelino and Delfina Moron; her son, Henry Lopez Sr.; her daughter, Mary Lopez; her grandson, Steven Lopez; and her sister, Janie Moron.

Virginia enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, dancing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

Virginia is survived by her children: her six sons, Joe Lopez and wife, Julia Lopez, of Lamesa, Martin Lopez and wife, Yolanda Lopez, of Houston, Texas, Raymond Lopez and wife, Linda Lopez, of San Angelo, Texas, David Lopez and wife, Sally Lopez, of Austin, Texas, Agapito Lopez Jr.of Lamesa, and Lupe Lopez and wife, Hope Lopez, of Lamesa; her daughter, Delfina Llanez and husband, Pat Llanez, of Lamesa; 46 grandchildren; 55 greatgrandchildren’ and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
