Dan McBain started teaching at Harlingen High School three years after graduating from there. He didn’t want to look like a student so he grew a beard. He has had one ever since. He got married while teaching art at Harlingen High School. Dan had shown his paintings at a few events, but all of a sudden he needed to do more with his art.
A dozen contestants walked away with trophies, crowns and prizes after winning titles in the Our Diamond Miss pageant in the Lamesa High School Auditorium Saturday morning.

Lamesa firefighters, law enforcement officials and medical personnel, along with their families and residents, converged onto the Dawson County Courthouse grounds early Wednesday evening to take part of the Honor Walk.
Next week is homecoming week for Lamesa High School (LHS) students.
For every Wednesday until the Christmas break, school age students finish their studies at school before heading to the United Methodist Church to take part of the church’s JAM program.
O’Donnell High School students are celebrating homecoming next week starting Tuesday.
