To help spread the word about the upcoming 13th annual Chicken Fried Steak Festival, city officials are visiting other cities’ festivities. They hope they can persuade vendors to bring their wares to Lamesa for its three-day celebration as the birthplace of the Texas dish.One of those visits was to the Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater.“Most of the vendors who came last year already have this on their calendar,” said City Manager Joe Hines. “We’re looking for vendors we don’t already know.
