Economic development boards to meet

Financial information and updates will be among the items facing Lamesa Economic Development Leaders during their regular meeting Monday evening.
The joint meeting of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) and the Lamesa Economic Alliance Project (LEAP) boards of directors will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Presidents Room of the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce, 123 Main Ave.
Ryan King, certified public accountant from Lubbock, will present the annual financial audits for the 2022 fiscal year for both LEDC and LEAP.
Board members also are scheduled to discuss and take action on the 2023-2024 budgets for LEDC and LEAP.
City Inspector Brian Beck is expected to present a report to the boards on the city’s efforts regarding demolition of old and dilapidated buildings.
LEDC board members will consider action regarding Ryno Recycle, which has received local economic development assistance.
Members of both boards will take action on a six-month job evaluation of Executive Director Mona Ferguson, who took that position late last year.
Ferguson is slated to present financial reports for both LEDC and LEAP, and will present a monthly activity update to the boards.
Ferguson also will present information for the boards to review from the International Council of Shopping Centers session held May 21-23 in Las Vegas.
A closed-door executive session is slated for the board to deliberate economic development negotiations and real property.
