Several months ago, Dawson County commissioners thought the $1.3 million estimate on renovations of a downtown building to become the new site for the probation office was a little steep.They opted to go through a bidding process to see about getting the price down.They discovered Tuesday that the original price, presented to them from an architectural firm, was on the mark after opening six bids for the project.They tabled the matter.They plan to revisit it during a special meeting at 3 p.m., Thursday.The six bids ranged from $1.2 million to $1.6 million.
