A Lamesa man was arrested less than two blocks from his home after leading officers on an automobile chase through town on Tuesday night.Charged with evading in a vehicle, the man was booked into county jail and released after making bail on Wednesday morning, according to Dawson County Sheriff Matt Hogg.The chase reportedly began at the four-way stop intersection of N. 7th St. and Main Ave. when a vehicle almost hit a sheriff’s department patrol unit.“It started as a simple traffic violation,” Hogg said.When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, it fled west on North 7th to about Ave.
