Replacement of the bleachers at the baseball and softball fields is the latest construction project being kicked off by the Lamesa school district. School board members on Tuesday accepted a bid of $464,500 from Southern Bleachers for the project which also will include replacement of the press boxes at both fields. Superintendent Jim Knight said demolition of the current bleachers at the Joe Spikes Field complex should begin in the next few days.
