Student film-maker goes to UIL state competition
She’s the director, the producer, the writer, the animator and even provides a voice over in a film she created for submission in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) film competition.

MAKING IT OFFICIAL
Apline Silica staff members were out in force Thursday morning to participate in a Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony. The facility opened in Welch over a year ago and employs 50 workers with plans to hire another 10 in the future. The plant provides silica sand for the oil industry.
Garden Club changes time
The Sunshine Garden Club changed the date to meet from the second Friday of the month to the first Monday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Northridge Retirement Annex Building.
No school for LISD Monday
Lamesa school students will be happy to know there are two consecutive Mondays and a Friday off from classes in their near future.
