The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) this past week opened the door for children ages five to 11 to receive the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19.
Fire threat increasing

Although this past week’s damp weather and light rain should help, the danger of fires involving grass, weeds and brushland has been steadily increasing here in recent weeks, according to Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck.

Angie Martinez, director of the Dawson County Public Library, brought some young children from one of the library’s reading groups to present a brief demonstration to members of the Dawson County Commissoners Court during their regular meeting Tuesday afternoon. Voters say ‘no’ in Tahoka’s $4.5M city street bond election

TAHOKA – Voters in the city of Tahoka voted against a $4.5 million street bond project in a General Obligation Bonds referendum on the Nov. 2 ballot. The referendum failed by a margin of 28 votes, with 120 against and 92 in favor.
Forfeitures total almost $14,000

LCH denied portion of loan

TAHOKA – Lynn County Healthcare System’s (LCH) quest for funding through a United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan for a $20 million hospital renovation and an addition of a nursing home was only partially approved, according to a recent letter from USDA to Melanie Richburg, LCH chief executive officer.
