Eight Golden Tornado athletes have been recognized among District 3-4A high school basketball’s cream of the crop: four making firstteam all-district and four earning honorable mention on both the boys and girls squads.
Lamesa’s eighth grade girls track squad scored a season-high 112 points this past Tuesday at Seminole to place fourth in the final team standings at that meet.
Both the Golden Tornadoes’ girls and boys golf squads finished fourth in their annual invitationals this past week at the Lamesa Municipal Golf Course.
Having hosted a McTeacher’s Night fundraiser on Feb. 25 to benefit the Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO) at South Elementary, the local McDonald’s restaurant this past week presented a $1,000 check to the school.
