The last two years have been full of changes for me - both huge and incremental. Many of my readers have accompanied me on my journey, and for that I’m forever grateful. It’s been fraught with grief, and sadness and even, at times, despair.
Back in December I visited my cousin in New Orleans area. I wrote about our travels to the World War II Museum. When we had finished seeing the museum, we traveled on into Mississippi.

My husband, Quinton, went with me to a two-year-old girl’s birthday party to help me with my miniature horses. When we arrived there were about 10 motorcycles parked in front, and several men with hair down to their waists stood under a tree drinking what I could only assume was lemonade.

To the Lamesa Community, Thank you. Thank you for welcoming me as your head football coach almost a decade ago. Thank you to all those parents of middle school students who put up with me in 2015 as your assistant principal. I made mistakes daily, but also met and began friendships with so many of the families that Lamesa ISD serves. Thank you for welcoming me back to the Lamesa Success Academy after I left for three years to Fort Worth. The Academy and our students will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart and I will always be so proud of those students that showed up every single day to work towards their future.
Under legislation prioritized by House Speaker Dade Phelan, every Texas school would have an armed police offi cer, and aspiring teachers would receive extra support.
Editor, For 22 years, Lamesa Movieland has been asking the community for support by becoming a member and donating financially and by volunteering your time at the theater.
