If you take a few minutes to read any local or national news, you will find tragic stories. They often surround a person or group of people making poor moral choices that harm themselves and others.
You don’t appreciate your health - until it’s gone. Gosh this is true, and I’ve learned it the hard way a few times in my life – the most recently last Tuesday.
Ihear it every day…”I can’t believe the school year is almost over!” Funny how September can seem just like yesterday, but also years ago at the same time. Our students have grown so much throughout the year. Looking back and thinking about all the things they have learned and accomplished is amazing!
It’s official. Fort Hood, named for a high-ranking Confederate officer in the Civil War, has been renamed Fort Cavazos, in honor of native Texan Richard E. Cavazos, the country’s first Hispanic four-star general.

Better Sleep Month is observed during the month of May and aims to encourage healthy patterns of sleep and educate on the benefits of sleeping well. According to Amy Valdez, Texas A&M AgriLife Program Specialist, “sleep is just as important as including a well-balanced eating pattern and physical activity into our daily lives. It can have a great impact on our physical and mental health, and a lack of sleep can be detrimental”.
