Lamesa resident Stephen McAdams will be walking in support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life at the Lamesa High School track next Saturday, Aug. 11, from 6 a.m. to finish, weather permitting. If not, McAdams will walk on the next Saturday, Aug. 18th.
McAdams will be walking in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society. His distance goal is 15 miles, which equals 60 laps around the LHS track.
McAdams is requesting sponsorships at 50 cents per lap, which totals to $30 for 60 laps, or $1 per lap, which totals $60 for 60 laps. Donors are welcome to contribute any amount per lap or any total donation.
McAdams collected over $2,600 last year.
His personal contribution this year will be $15 per lap for a total of $900. McAdams will increase his contribution by $5 for each lap that he has a co-walker or cheerleader accompanying him.
Contributions will be collected after the walk. Checks should be made to the American Cancer Society.
McAdams also is requesting additional walkers to raise money along with him and to find sponsors for their own personal walk against cancer.
Those interested in sponsoring McAdams’ walk may call him at (806) 200-3211 or mail their contribution to 2003 CR 13 in Lamesa.
